We went to the zoo - blimey it was busy. Lovely weather caused the whole of hamsphire to descend on the zoo. It's been done up since we last went and there are lots of new play park areas. Here's some photos of penguins, tigers and Lucy playing

It's Friday and it's nearly bank holiday weekend. Lucy is at Kyla's helping to look after Alfie.

I did another long run yesterday and a shorter one today - my injuries seem to have gone into hiding which is fantastic news.

The forecast for tomorrow is good so we've promised Lucy that after the housework we'll have a picnic in the playpark and spend as long as she wants there - which sounds pretty civilised - maybe I'll get to finish my book.

She spent the walk this morning planning how she could pack her own picnic and put it in her bag and take her scooter and hang her picnic on the handlebars - I suspect she might be looking forward to it a smidgen.

Hurray for me - I did 2 laps of my route today - my watch stopped near the end - but i reckon its something like 4.5 miles in 40 mins.

Even if temporarily.

It's been a sunny weekend and we got the paddling pool out. We had a bike ride and Lucy did really well - she even did some riding on the road. We went down the the sea front and along til the pedestrians got too dense - then thought we'd better adhere to the "no bikes" signs.

And a new table from Victoriana - it's very swish - we keep admiring it. And some fancypants new crockery from the Denby shop at Gunwhark AND what's more - a sparkly new hoover.
